Requirements
- StarFire 7000 or StarFire 7500 receiver with RTK Ready and Mobile RTK (M-RTK) activations enabled.
- External modem for NTRIP connectivity:
- John Deere serial modem (mounted directly to the receiver), or
- Third-party modem capable of supplying RTCM via RS-232 into the receiver’s serial port.
- TraceNav device credentials.
- Cabling and power for the receiver/modem combination.
Configure TraceNav corrections
- Ensure the StarFire receiver is updated to the latest firmware and activations are applied.
- Connect the external modem to a reliable internet source (cellular SIM or Wi-Fi bridge).
- In the StarFire UI (display or Ops Center):
- Navigate to RTK / Network RTK settings.
- Select Custom NTRIP or 3rd Party RTK mode.
- Enter the TraceNav caster details:
- Server:
ntrip.tracenav.net - Port:
2101 - Username / Password: TraceNav device credentials
- Server:
- Mountpoint:
tracenav
- Set the output to RTCM 3.x and confirm the serial port baud rate matches the modem (typically 9600 or 38400 bps for RS-232).
- Save and connect. Once authorized, the receiver should display RTK / RTK Fixed status.
